Teaching playground safety and manners to kids!

Slyde the Playground Hound made a special appearance at Applebee’s Restaurant in Idaho Falls, Idaho to the delight of the diners at the fundraiser to benefi t the Equal Access Playground which is a playground for both handicapped and normally developing children. The evening’s fundraiser was a celebrity waiter benefi t where all the tips from the meals went to the playground fund. In addition, patrons could have their picture taken with Slyde or their celebrity waiter for a small donation.
One 4 year old little boy was very interested as Slyde made his way among the tables, greeting guests. The little boy was roundeyed at being introduced to Slyde. A short while later the boy followed Slyde to the back of the restaurant and asked if he would let him have a picture with the 7 foot dog. Slyde was happy to oblige, and the little boy went home with a picture of his own celebrity with his paw around the boy’s shoulder.
Another young man came and found Slyde, and asked him to come to his table. When Slyde got there he found the boy’s younger sister who was too shy to come to Slyde on her own, but thrilled to have him visit with her. The brother and sister were very pleased to shake Slyde’s paw and get a coloring book from him.
Slyde and the celebrity waiter crew raised $2,505.00 for the playground that night. Thanks Slyde!”
